Description:  We are looking for optical engineers to help us build a simple smartphone-based fluorescence reader. We need help to optimize an existing prototype, optimize user interface design for ease-of-use, and make the prototype ready for scaled manufacturing.

Primary skills required: Fluorescence optical systems, filter selection, lens design, user interface design, human centered design, industrial design, scaled manufacturing experience, geometrical optics, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, laser cutting, CAD design, LED, optical measurement and calibration, camera systems, electronic circuits, optical simulation, ray tracing, setting up custom made microscopes, biotechnology, image analysis (e.g. imageJ), patent applications, startup experience, fund raising, good communication skills, good English skills, good teamwork. Field: Surface chemistry and reagent patterning scientist
Description:  We are looking for a scientist to help optimize surface coatings of silicone devices to prevent non-specific adsorption of DNA/ proteins. We also need help developing a process for inkjet patterning of reagents, and lyophilizing (freeze-drying) reagents into microfluidic chips. In addition, developing scalable bonding process that are compatible with the surface chemistry and reagent patterning techniques above.

Primary skills required:  expertise in surface chemistry, reagent lyophilizing optimization (freeze-drying), microfluidics, reagent patterning, ink jet printing of DNA and proteins, fluorescence imaging skills, molecular biology, PCR, isothermal amplification, patenting, and grant writing. Description:  We are looking for an infectious disease expert to help develop isothermal assays. We also need help with sample preparation optimization for nucleic acid extraction. 

Primary skills required:  expertise with virus and bacterial infectious diseases, primer/probe design expertise, isothermal amplification, pathogen handling skills, molecular biology, PCR, nanoparticles, DNA/RNA extraction methods (spin column and magnetic beads), isothermal amplification, DNA hybridization methods, DNA array fabrication experience.
